Kathryn Ophart grew up in Muskingum Valley Presbytery, spent a year volunteering at Casa Refugiados in Mexico City living in community with asylum seekers, and is currently a seminary student.
During the summer of 2020, Kathryn will return to Mexico City to partner with Refuge of the Heart and Casa Refugiados. Refuge of the Heart will help asylum seekers who express interest to connect with a faith community in Mexico City. Through the practices of spiritual accompaniment, Kathryn will serve in a chaplain type role as she cares for asylum seekers and social workers.
